There are 40 screws in this set, ten each of 35mm, 40mm, 50mm and 75mm (for when the plasterer really was taking the mickey). The very tip of each screw is unthreaded, which makes it easier to find the hole before tightening, useful when you can't actually see the hole because it's so far into the wall.The threads are a bit rough on some of them but nothing that should cause much issue and they should clean up as they're inserted. As with any screws, if they start to bind, back them off a bit so the gathered swarf can fall off and you should be able to go in further.

Whenever I undertake a project needing screws, I usually have to scrummage in an old glass jar – sometimes unsuccessfully – to find some suitably sized ones. So I was pleased to find these narrow but longish, stainless steel screws. They are of good quality, and I particularly like the depth of the screw head, which provides good traction when the screwdriver is turned. Because they are designed primarily for light switch and plug sockets, they perhaps have a limited general usage … but are good nevertheless.
