This is a seriously heavy duty device - you might initially wonder if it’s possible to chop logs with a “guillotine” style chopper because it seems almost impossible that a tool like this would do the job of an axe… but once you feel the weight of it and feel the quality of the steel etc then you soon realise that it is totally up to the job. It feels indestructible and is actually pretty heavy.It looks superb - very matt black steel with a really solid wooden handle and is heavy enough to do most of the work for you. If you are fed up of paying a fortune for a small pack of firewood/kindling or find using an axe a little bit too dangerous then you really should consider this wall mounted log splitter.It is supplied with 4 fixing screws - which are quite large (due to the weight of the splitter) and a safety ring that you can fit to the base which restricts the use of the splitter by stopping it from opening unless the user consciously raises the ring to the top of the splitter to “release” the chopping blade.The fixing screws are, I think, (unfortunately there were no instructions provided in the package) meant for screwing the splitter into a wooden base such as a tree or a large and solid fence post …. I wanted to fix this to a wall and so had to purchase some special heavy duty masonry wall bolts and wall plugs to enable me to fit it sufficiently securely to stop it from moving when in use. If you are planning to fix this to a wall (and it does look great on a wall!) then make sure you have some heavy duty fixings available. If you have a strong wooden log store then it may have a post that is sufficiently strong and large to fit this to.Once you have it secured to a very solid and strong base wall then it really does to all of the hard work for you - no more swinging an axe around, just wedge the log into one of the serrated steps (which one simply depends on the size of the log) and pull down the handle firmly .. the kindling simply falls off the log (just keep your spare hand out of the way of course!).This would make a wonderful gift for anyone that you know who has a log burner - or does a lot of outdoor living. Perfect Christmas present for the right person!. It looks every bit of its price and is thoroughly recommended.

Arrives in a plain brown box, good protective packing.There are no instructions, mine is also missing the screws, there are washers, and a metal ring.This is a well made chunk of metal, nicely engineered, has a fair bit of weightThe splitter is made to be wall mounted, this would need to be attached to a sturdy wall, the pressure you need to apply is a fair amount when trying to split the woodThe theory is better than the actual doing, the idea is you put a log on, lever the arm and it splits, takes a lot of pressure to split the long, need to be dry and fairly brittle to split.I like the product, a good metal, nicely engineered product which I can appreciate, however, its not an easy to tool, to use.

Das Werkzeug selbst ist mit seinen 46,99€ in meinen Augen nicht gerade günstig. Allerdings ist dieses sehr massiv und schwer ausgeführt. Dies muss aber auch so sein, da sonst das Holz spalten sehr schwer fällt. Die Klinge zum spalten selbst ist zudem auch nicht wirklich scharf geschliffen. Das Spalten selbst erfolgt weitestgehend über die große und schwere Masse, was die Klinge samt Griff hat. Dazu liegt dieser mit der Holz Schale dann auch noch sehr gut in der Hand. 😉Allerdings funktioniert das Tool selbst nur mit kleineren Holz Stücken, die dann auch nicht wirklich Astlöcher haben. Zu hartes Holz ist dazu auch noch total ungeeignet... 😒Dazu hätte ich mir hier ein paar bessere Schrauben und die dazugehörigen Dübel gewünscht. Da die Schrauben in Verbindung mit Dübeln in einer gemauerten Wand meiner Meinung nach zu kurz sind.Ansonsten ist dies auf jeden Fall ein absolut super Helferlein, so o muss man sich dann auch nicht mehr mit einer Axt herum ärgernDaher ist es mir dann auch eine klare 4 Sterne Bewertung wert!⭐🌟🌟⭐
