I got a set of Ram Mount mirrors for my bike.Doubletake's newer mirrors are not available in my market as of this review.The baseballs that came from Ram Mount were a bit flimsy compared to the rest tbh. When tightened, they deformed quite easily and I noticed that the mirrors/arms were quite shaky on one side. Even after reseating a few times, it was clear that the baseballs were the culprit.These replacements have been a revelation. the option to use a wrench to tighten is something that Ram bases do not have. I have, however, had to use some Loctite to keep things tight, and only time will tell whether the plastic degrades or cracks. But as of this typing, must have vs. what's on offer from Ram, maybe Doubletake as well.

Bought these after having to mangle the original RAM balls that came with my doubletake mirrors. Superior design since they have wrench flats and a much harder ball. The metal used isn't soft either, I didn't leave any marks when I tightened them down fairly aggressively.

It's not often that the Chinese manufactures one up domestic companies products, but these guys have caught RAM sleeping on the job! I can say that I agree with all the positive comments on these replacement balls. For my 701 Enduro using double take adventure mirrors riding off-road or on the highway they solve the following problems:1. Stainless steel instead of aluminum that will gal up the threads on your mounts.2. An actual wrench stud so you can properly tighten them to your bars with a wrench instead of having to overtighten your ram arms deforming the balls. So no more wind loosening them while you are riding. And with the stud nut I have more confidence to but a little blue Loctite on the threads as I now have something to actually wrench on to loosen.3. I don't have to tighten my rams arms as tight on these like I had to on the RAM balls to stop my mirrors from eventually flopping down. The ram balls are just to soft that I had to torque them down so tight to stop my mirrors from falling that you would deform the balls as seen in some of the other attached reviewers pictures that now you can really only mount your arms in one position to match the imprinted deformation. These balls solve that as now they are tight enough to stay put, but still allow me to still adjust my mirrors without having to loosen the arms.Screwing with mirrors while riding is seriously distracting and dangerous. I can't cant count how many times I had to retighten my mirrors while driving with the stock RAM balls. I feel much more confident that won't require me to keep fiddling with them while driving.Sorry RAM but you need to pay attention to your customers feedback and complaints. Otherwise those that do will eat your lunch with a better version of your product. Build a better mousetrap.....
