I'm using this to hold an Audio-Technica ATR2500-USB in a spider shock mount. The arm adjusts pretty easily and holds the mic steadily. The attachment point on the end is connected to the arm with a ball socket that clamps into position. It's pretty solid, but I feel like I have to tighten the clamp a lot to hold it firm. It would be nice if there were one more pivot point to allow rotating the mic left and right without adjusting that ball joint. The cable management works well for the USB cable I'm using, but the plastic covers that slide into place might not hold if you use a heavy XLR cable. The mounting clamp sticks down 3.75 inches (about 9.5 cm) from the bottom of the table. This matters for me, because I mounted it to my sit-stand desk converter, which sits on top of my fixed desk. In my case, the clamp handle touches the top of the fixed desk when I lower the sit-stand converter. The bottom arm sticks up about 4.25 inches (about 11 cm) above the top of the table if you don't use the optional extension rod. The top arm sticks up another 2.75 inches (about 7 cm) above the bottom part when in a horizontal position. When I assembled the arm, the pieces fit together very tightly. I had to work the arm pivot posts back and forth to get them into their sockets. It wasn't hard, but it did require some patience.

I have been searching for both a high profile and low profile mic arm that doesn't have any problems for a long time, so when I saw this one up for review I had to jump on it, as I was very close to pulling the trigger on one of the many clones of this type. I have this paired with a Fifine AM8. Since I have 2 monitors and my laptop setup on my desk, I need something that can go either over everything or stay below everything, and this is mounted on the side of my desk so it can sneak under the vision of my vertical monitor. I have tried a few different low profile mic arms in the past, and they have all had 1 of 2 problems. Either they don't have the right types of movement to keep from blocking a section of my screen, or they are too low and hit my hands while typing. This one doesn't have either of those problems. In fact, I have no issues keeping it in speaking mode all the time because it works so well. My one concern is that the way you connect the mic to the arm is through a ball joint, and I've had to crank it down REALLY hard to keep the mic where I want it, but it's been holding steady. Highly recommend this style at least to anyone who's looking for a low profile mic arm without going to the >$100 range

I have several microphone arms and many of them are extremely expensive. None of them are built any better than this one. This unit has a phenomenal quality and I was not expecting it at this price because microphone arms usually range in these several hundred dollars. Now this is an interesting design it’s a little bit low profile. But the build quality is excellent and the materials and fit and finish our premium. I would’ve expected this to cost a lot more money . This arm is capable of rotating all the way around and rising up by about a foot but I think it’s designed to come up from underneath the holder microphone which can be better for certain peoples camera placement as it keeps it out of the way and keeps the big boom arm out of the frame. Now you can’t move the bottom arm out of the way vertically so it must pivot if you want to stow it. This is what I mean by specific use cases. I’m OK with it as I can slide it out of the way but for some people this could be an issue. The adjustments require a tightening of a night so it’s not exactly quick release so to speak. But still I stand by my reviews at this price point this is a five-star product just make sure it meets your particular set up needs. If you need an arm to completely stow vertically this is not going to be one for you, although I suppose you could pull the arm off of the mount. This is a fantastic quality item. It can hold very heavy microphones and it will hold them steady. It has hidden cable channels so you can run your cords through the arms to give it a really nice appearance. This is one seriously first class product that I wholeheartedly recommend at this point .

The metal parts are good, stable and strong. The plastic parts are not. -Just setting it up saw me breaking one of the cable covers, (fitted into the arms). The manufacturers knew these were poorly engineered and even included an ad-hoc sticker warning the user not to try to slide the covers the wrong way when releasing and clipping them into place.Evidently, this was not sufficient; even sliding them the correct way resulted in the plastic cover bending and then breaking easily under the pressure of an XLR cable. Two minutes out of the box, and already I was looking at a broken plastic clip in my hand. That's bad design.Elgato's predecessor and superior version of the arm has magnetically placed all-metal cable covers, and they work perfectly. But you pay for what you get. This arm otherwise works nicely, has smooth action and holds a heavy Rode Procaster with no trouble. The little screw controlling the up/down arm hinge resistance didn't pop its threads when I tightened it appropriately for the weight of that heavy mic. (You need to use the little allen key provided). I just needed to use a velcro strip to keep the cable tucked out of the way.As a discount option in the low profile mic arm category, this isn't a bad choice, but don't count on the cable covers doing their job.

I just received and installed the mic arm and am very pleased by the quality of this product. Most of the arm is metal, so it's sturdy and stable. It pivots easily and doesn't make a sound. There are multiple ways to adjust it, so that you can move it to the perfect angle.
