I have headphone cables running from TV, stereo and PC to the inputs of a 3.5 mm jack switchbox (for easy selection of the sound source). At the switchbox output side there was a single cable leading to a wired headphone. This long cable is now replaced by a short cable with on the other end a bluetooth transmitter (FeinTech ABT00101). The signal from the transmitter is received by this Avantree Alto Clair.( Pairing the Alto Clair with a mobile phone is now a welcome additional option for me, but that's not what this review is about. Also it's not about phone calls for I have no personal experience in using it for that purpose. It is about listening to audio/video sources over an external bluetooth transmitter using aptX )Well then, first: the Alto Clair does not feature Active Noise Canceling as it is generally known. It features Environmental Noise Cancelling in the microphone (if mounted). This eliminates noise from the surroundings to make those you are speaking to hear you better. You yourself will still hear the surroundings. However, there is Passive Noise Cancelling to a certain degree, due to the soft earpads sitting on the ears. Even though the earpads are not entirely over the ears they still keep out some surrounding noise, not much yet enough to be surprised if you didn't expect anything. On top of that the earpads of the Alto Clair are the most comfortable ones I ever had. I would even call them pleasing.Once a bluetooth connection is established for the first time, re-pairing the next time in that same connection is easy. Sliding the power switch calmly to the center lets re-pairing start. The connection is reestablished swiftly. However, if the switch is pushed a little too far, the 'pair anew' process starts. According to the product page this should happen only when the switch is held there for 2 seconds, but I cannot confirm that for my copy. This sensibility in the power switch means (in my case) that also on the transmitter the 'pair anew' process has to be reinitiated. To prevent this from happening all the time I applied a piece of duct tape to function as a stop for the switch. A seperate re-pairing button would be preferable. The power switch also does not feel sturdy. When treated gently it may last nevertheless. If both the bluetooth transmitter and the receiver can handle aptX HD (High Definition) and aptX LL (Low Latency), it is determined by the transmitter whether HD or LL gets priority. When the transmitter starts polling the receiver (the Alto Clair) for a HD connection and the receiver acknowledges it can handle HD, then HD it is. If a HD connection cannot be established or if the transmitter is configured to start with polling for LL, then LL it will be. There is no way to configure the Alto Clair to let LL take precedence. Priority may be set in the transmitter though, if it has that feature. The white blinking of the LED 2x per 5 seconds (HD connection) or permanent white LED (LL connection) on the Alto Clair tells you the type of connection that has been established. Why would you want aptX LL ? To have no noticeable delay in the sound when watching TV or anything else with images. In a aptX HD connection sound quality is clear and balanced, bass is rich. I dare even say it is not less than with my wired headphone (V-Moda XS), close to high-end. But when used with video there is a sound delay, there is no "lipsync" due to the time it takes for HD audio processing. With aptX LL there still is a sound delay (40 ms) but it is not really noticeable. This is what you want for watching TV.LL sound quality is said to be less than HD, but frankly, I don't really hear that. The difference will probably be audible in certain music passages. When watching TV everything sounds as clear with LL as it does with HD, including voices.I assume that in the future aptX LL will be obsolete because HD processing will then be so quick that latency is no longer a problem. For now LL is a good enough solution. The volume control - on the right earcup - works but it doesn't rotate lightly. I have to hold the earcup steady with my left hand or else the entire headphone tilts off the ears. While you're watching or listening and are not paying attention to the LED (for red blinking to warn about low battery), you will still be warned. A voice will tell you "low battery". That's a very welcome addition. And by the way, the charging base is brilliant, super convenient. This is a wonderful headphone, much to my liking and enjoyment. Because of the inconveniences with re-pairing and volume control I was tempted to give 4 stars. But I feel that, all in all, this would be an underevaluation.

Azienda super seria davvero.

charges quickly and holds charge for ages. detachable microphone is a good idea if only using the headset for listening. only 2 VERY minor gripes are that the headset fits so tight that it is a little uncomfortable to wear for prolonged periods. the tight fit is also responsible for a muffled sound of your own voice when in conversation.

Product is better than expected. Bought this for working remotely. I am on these most of my work day and I am very happy with them and find them comfortable. I have recommended to other colleagues as well. Sound quality great for meetings and I even find my music connected to my phone sounds good.
