As a DIY weekender, the biggest issue I've always faced is the wide use of imperial measurements that construction bros use with unquestionable ease. I'll admit I still can't wrap my head around it which has meant tools like my current square is used nothing more than a tool support like holding my circular saw straight.Finally, amongst a market of many imperial measuring goods, I'm pleased to find not only a solid professional square but also one with metric measurements! I was expecting the squares to be tacky and not really aluminum as it says. To much pleasure, I can confirm these are solid metal squares with neatly written measurements. There also appears good value for money here being a set of two - the larger 12 inch is huge which alone usually costs about the same or more the price of the set.There still could be some improvements for the value for money here. The measurements are not etched into the square, rather printed on the surface. I noticed the 7-inch square in this set already arrived with the corner scratched and the marking fading off. For carpenters, I presume this could be a major downside for carpenters. Moreover, I think the aluminum is missing a necessary glossy coating. The surface, while smooth, feels very prone to scratching so may not have the best durability in mind.Nevertheless, for the money I'm pleased with these solid metal squares which can give me a definite hold and actually provide me with measuring help. The use of metric measurements makes a big difference for people like me who hide from inches, feet etc.

Picked these up as I wanted a longer square to use as a guide for simple quick cuts with the circular saw and this has been great for that.Both squares seem accurate enough for my home use, price is very reasonable at the time of purchase, really not a bad little set.Markings are easy enough to read and the finish seems durable.
