I realize that these are expensive; however, they will outlive you. I not only froth milk in them, I also make hot chocolate with milk, milk powder, and dark chocolate discs. The heat retention is superb as well as the quality of the materials. I gave all of my stainless pitchers away and bought 3 different sizes of these.
